Done!
So after a few delays with the cabinets, we are done.
This is the before...

Steve disassembling it...

Putting the new stuff in it's place...

They fit, yes... the biggest problem was that there isn't a straight wall or straight floor in this old house. We used a lot of wedges to get everything level.

Then is was just a matter of putting in the drawers and waiting for the granite boys to come back and install the top.
This is the final result and I'm ever so pleased with it. Except for the granite we did everything else ourselves.

I may someday paint the existing kitchen cabinets but for the moment I'm really happy with how everything looks and works. I really love having drawer banks instead of doors. The height of these new cabinets is 36 inches and the counter extends 6 inches making it more like an island. I have stools so I can sit and have breakfast there if I want and it's a great place for the laptop while searching recipes.
So that's it for now. It's time for me to get all my husbands books in order before out trip to the accountant. I really hate this time of year, I really hate bookkeeping but since he did such a nice job on the kitchen, what can I say...ciao

Beautiful, Rositta! Great job to Steve. It's a pain when nothing is level -I think every house is like that really. He did an awesome job.
Love the granite!
Beautiful transformation. The feeling is entirely changed. Excellent.
What a beautiful new look to your kitchen, enjoy! :)
Thanks Cheryl, it's a lot different than my Greek kitchen. Each one is beautiful in it's own way.
